Jason Kelce biography

Currently a member of the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL, Jason Kelce plays centre. In the 2011 NFL Draft, he was the sixth overall pick and was taken by the Philadelphia Eagles. He attended Cincinnati University and participated in football there. Kelce has been named to the Pro Bowl six times and the first-team All-Pro four times. He is also a Super Bowl champion. He is Travis Kelce’s older brother, the star tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jason Kelce’s Early Life and Background

Although he was born in Greenville, North Carolina, Kelce spent most of his formative years in Ohio, where he attended Cleveland Heights High School, where he starred on offence and defence as a two-time All-Lake Erie-Lake League selection at running back and linebacker.

He enjoys music and has performed with Symphonic and Jazz Bands on baritone saxophone.

Kelce started out as a walk-on running back, then moved to fullback, and then the offensive line, before redshirting his first year at Cincinnati.

In 2008, as a sophomore at UC, he was a key member of an offensive line that paved the way for an offence that averaged 27.3 points and 375.3 yards per game. After he signed with the Bengals in 2008, his brother Travis Kelce followed suit and started playing centre alongside him.

Kelce was named to the All-Big East Second Team in 2009. For his senior year in 2010, he switched to centre and was named Honorable Mention All-America and to the All-Big East second team.
